OctaFX Champion demo contest Round 57: tips for fellow traders

1st place: Mr. Zaenal Mutaqin SE from Indonesia

Thank God, I feel so happy and grateful to be the winner of OctaFX Champion contest!  I don’t really trade all the time, I just do it occasionally when the time seems right. Now I’m thinking it’s a good moment to participate in a few other contests that you offer. Why not if this one was a success for me? The key for me is not being hasty or carried away when I trade and when I see someone that has more equity than I do. I don’t have a perfect plan for my trading, I only use one technique that I think is beneficial for me. I guess my most spectacular profit was when I traded calmly and without any hurry. Of course, for a human being, it’s natural to make mistakes, but analysis is always the key. I think 2 years is a long enough period to become a good trader.

2nd place: Mr. Nikolaos Papanikolopoulos from Greece

I am very happy and I feel that my efforts finally got a reward. I always try to improve my trading abilities, so I take part in OctaFX contests just to test my skills. I spend at least 3-4 hours every day watching the markets and trying to find the best entry points for my positions. I will definitely participate in other competitions by OctaFX and I will suggest my fellow traders to do the same. It’s quite a good idea for those who want to spice up their trading life. This month, I was trading without any emotions: I was trying not to think about what was happening and what was about to happen. I’m pretty sure this approach and a simple idea to follow the trend helped me to be one of the winners this time. My most spectacular gain was 231 pips with high amount of equity that I had invested in EURUSD. I had a huge pips loss of 541 pips in gold but I had invested a very small amount, so it really did not damage my portfolio. A piece of advice for other traders? It takes time and hard work to become a good trader; you have to study all the time and get the right information of what the factors that drive the prices are. However, at the end of the day, it’s worth it.

3rd place: Mr. Al Hadian Harahap from Indonesia

I can hardly believe it! Even though I only got the 3rd place, I’m one of the winners and I’m happy about it. I was just trading when I had some spare time during the day and also at night. Sure, I'll take this opportunity and I will participate in other contests and promotions by OctaFX. I got inspired! My strategy, tips & tricks? I was just utilizing my time and moment. I was also paying attention to the trend as well as being disciplined when I trade, even if it’s a brief trade. I dare myself to just do it. I keep on learning, never get bored. I followed the trend of D1, H1, M30, M5 and other various techniques. At this point, I did not experience any losses. I want to continue to learn, take my time and keep on training myself to form a habit of reading the market. As a piece of advice for my fellow traders, I can say that everything is in your hands. It can take quite a while to reach the top, but on average it takes up to 4 months, 6 months or 1 year. Everything  depends on the discipline of a trader and the willingness to learn.
